About ColorPickerTools

ColorPickerTools is a set of free, browser-based tools for anyone who works with color: designers, developers, marketers, teachers and hobbyists. The toolbox starts where most color work starts — getting a color out of something you can see — and follows through to naming it, converting it, extending it into a palette and checking that the result is actually readable.

It includes an image color picker that samples the exact pixel of a photo or screenshot, palette extractors that pull the dominant colors out of an image, converters between HEX, RGB, HSL and CMYK, a color name finder, a color wheel, gradient and harmony generators, plus two accessibility tools: a WCAG contrast checker and a color blindness simulator.

Every tool runs locally in your browser. Images you load and values you type are never uploaded, stored or transmitted — the analysis happens on your own device, there is no sign-up, and nothing is behind a paywall or an email form.

The guides explain the concepts behind the tools — how hex notation works, why RGB and CMYK are different models, how the color wheel produces harmonies, and how color vision deficiency affects design — so results can be understood and applied rather than simply copied.
